FAQ Page - Frequently Asked Questions
* Question1 - What are the shipment costs? Answer 1 - shiping of bitless bridles is $10 to most places in Australia. shipping of saddles varies from $20 to $40 depending on the saddle and postage distance.
* Question2 - Will a Treeless Saddle Fit My Horse? Answer 2 - Treeless saddles will fit most horses, as they can lay flat on the ground! some models better suited then other, depend on the particular horse. I have a range of different horses i have tried my saddles out on. My horses include those with high withers, no withers, flat backs and rump high.
* Question3 - Can anyone Ride in a Treeless Saddle? Answer 3 - In Theory yes, but I don't recommend that beginner riders use a treeless saddle, as they don't provide the support of a treed saddle for the unbalanced rider. and heavy weight riders should invest in extra foam inserts for the saddle pads.
* Question4 - Will a cheap Treeless saddle cause my horses back to be sore? Answer 4 - I have never had a horses back become sore from any of the saddles i sell. provided a pad is used most treeless saddles wont cause back problems the problem with alot of the cheaper treeless saddles is that they are sold without an anatomical pad for spine clearance, and yes if they are used regularly without this type of pad they can and will cause a horse to have a sore back The other problem i have come across while trailing some treeless models is that the strap the stirrup bars are connect to is only 1cm wide and placed in the wrong position, which can also cause a pressure point.
All the saddles i will be selling i will have personally tested and tried on my horses and they are all safe and comfortable for both horse and rider.
* Question5 - I have a horse that is very strong with a hard mouth and can be very difficult to pull up. he resists the bit and runs through it. I am hoping that a bitless bridle may help? Answer 5 - i have used these bridles on horses with hard mouths, most it works wonderful for, i wont say it will work on all horses, as they are all very different, I have found over 90% of horses are better bitless, as it is a different feel and they cannot evade the pressure
* Question6 - I'm having problems with my horse due to a parrot mouth and a low pallet in his mouth, finding a bit that he is comfortable with is hard. what results have you had bitless? Answer 6 - I love bitless bridles and i've ridden about 40 horses bitless and of this only 2 didn't like it. One was sensitive around the head and very head strong and the other had an old injury on her jaw. All the others were fantastic bitless. One of my horses has a low pallet and she is so much better when bitless. When i do have to use a bit for dressage or showing i use a straight bar or double jointed synthetic bit (the apple flavored ones)
* Question7 - what sort of training is needed to change from normal bit to bitless bridles? Answer 7 - It depends greatly on the horse. Some horses can be ridden bitless with very little training, especially if they are properly halter trained and understand to move off pressure. But i advise doing a few minutes ground work to make sure they understand turning and stopping before you ride bitless. And coming soon "Bit Adaptors" to change over from a bit to bitless the easy way.
* Qustion 8 - Whats the difference between the cross under and the side pull style bridles? Answer 8 - The Side pull bridle is like a cross between a halter and a bridle and just uses nose pressure for control, where as the cross under bridle uses all over head pressure including the nose, the poll and the sides of the face. Most horses work very well in the side pull bridle however the cross under provides better control but some horses dont like the poll pressure.
* Qustion 9 - I have a horse with no topline, can i use a treeless saddle?? Answer 9 - horses who have no topline are almost always that way due to previous bad saddle fit and using a treeless may require a special riser pad until the muscles - which will be able to heal in this type of saddle - redevelop again.
